A space inclusive of all levels and artistic backgrounds, and many crafts and hobbies. A jumping off point for artistic inspiration, collaboration, sharing, and learning.

Since forming, the Group has been meeting regularly, exchanging ideas, getting to know one another, recognising each others strengths, experimenting with different media, and looking at different artists’ work. We have now reached a concensus on our main direction. We have realised that between us we have a variety of skills that we would like to share with each other, and with newcomers, some new to art.

The Group will encompass:

1. Regular practical sessions working in various media such as clay, wire, wood, drawing and collage, etc., either on our individual  work, or a set theme. Jan will coordinate and help members to achieve their aims. Other members will also offer guidance in their speciality, where appropriate.

2. We will refer to other artists’ work, and occasionally invite a guest artist to talk about their work and how they achieved their goals (apropriate technological equipment is available).

3. We welcome new members, from beginners to those who have mastered some skills but wish to learn others, as well as share their interest with like-minded people.

4. Organise occasional visits to relevant exhibitions.

So please come along and meet some like-minded and enthusiastic local people. At present the Group meet at 2pm in the Foyer of the Village Hall every second Tuesday of the month, but they are also considering running a parallel evening session.
